Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College men's tennis team fell to the Drexel University Dragons in non-conference tennis action 7-0.
Drexel won every match that was played sweeping both the doubles and singles. Carlo Pangilinan started things off taking down Steve Johnsen (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) 6-2, 6-3, while Joe Koebel followed suit upending Adam Amster (Concord, MA/Concord-Carlisle) 6-2, 6-0. After that the Dragons turned it on only allowing two points in the next three matches. Brandon Sogluizzo (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) was downed by Pasquale Cardone 6-1, 6-0, Ayushya Wadhwan rolled to victory over Frank Castanza (Howard Beach, NY/Holy Cross) 6-0, 6-1, and Ben Trabin blanked Will Shuler (Springfield, MA/Central Springfield) 6-0, 6-0. Drexel also picked up a default win on the final singles match
In doubles play it was more of the same for the Green & White. Pangilinan and Koebel joined forces to subdue Johnsen and Amster 8-3, while the duo of Cardone and Trabin were winners against Sogluizzo and Castanza 8-2. Drexel also earned a default win in doubles play as well.
