Seahawks Lose in Overtime to Owls 2-1

Ambler, PA - Wagner College women's soccer lost in overtime 2-1 at Temple University. The Seahawks drop to 2-11-2 overall, while the Owls improve to 3-13-1 overall.

Freshman Heather Daubert (Middletown, NY / Minisink Valley) scored Wagner's only goal in the game twenty minutes into the first half as she worked her way through traffic in front of the goal and sent a shot past Temple's goalie.

Temple struck back in the second half with sophomore Debbie Painter scoring on a penalty kick after being fouled in the box on a breakaway (65:48). The Seahawks were out-shot 16-10, but recorded twice as many fouls as the Owls (18-8) in this non-conference match.

Four minutes into overtime, Temple's Charisma Wright slid a shot passed the diving Leslie Reed (Indian Harbour Beach, FL / Satellite) to end the game with a 2-1 score. Senior Betty Ann Rogers (Mount Holly, NJ / George School) led the Seahawks in shots in the game with four. Temple held a slight advantage in corner kicks 6-5. Three yellow cards and a red card were given out during the game.

The Seahawks have two conference games left in the season and will take on Sacred Heart at home on Friday at 3:00 pm.
