Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College men's tennis team was blanked by the Peacocks of St. Peter's College 7-0 in non-conference tennis action. The Green & White lost every match they played in and defaulted for losses on two others.
Starting with singles play Cprime Realista took down senior Steve Johnsen (Staten Island, NY/Tottenville) 7-5, 6-1 and St. Peter's was just getting started. Conrad Nowugroozki downed Adam Amster (Concrod, MA/Concord-Carlisle) 6-1, 6-3, while Peter Czajka outlasted Brandon Sogliuzzo (Staten Island, NY/Curtis) 6-2, 6-4. The later matches proved to be more of the same for the Peacocks as Jon Pimentel blanked sophomore Will Shuler (Springfield, MA/Central Springfield) 6-0, 6-0, and Jake Baranowski did likewise to Mike Tutunjian (Ridge, NY/Longwood) 6-0, 6-0. The Seahawks lost the final singles point on a default.
In doubles action Wagner would continue to struggle. Johnsen and Amster would fall to the duo of Realista and Nowugroozki 8-3, while Sogliuzzo and Shuler would succumb to Czajka and Pimental 8-2. The final match would again be awarded to the Peacocks by a default.
