John Pisano

Pisano enters his third season as an Assistant Coach of the Wagner softball team.

Pisano joined the Seahawks after spending two years as the associate head softball coach and interim head coach at Queens College. In his first season at Queens, Pisano helped the program reach a regional ranking and seven-win improvement from the previous season (23-24) and missed the ECC Championships by just one game. In his second season, he returned eight players and led Queens to a playoff berth in the ECC where the Knights fell just short in the Championship game, and had three all-conference selections.

Prior to Queens, Pisano served as head coach at Lehman College, located in the Bronx, for one year. Like the Knights, Pisano led Lehman to a nine-win improvement in his first season as head coach. Pisano also worked for nine seasons on the coaching staff at Fontbonne Hall Academy in Brooklyn, NY.

Before arriving on staff at Lehman College, he served as a head coach for Fastpitch travel softball at the Gold level. He started out with the New York Panthers in 1994 and recently ended his travel coaching with the Newtown Rock located out of Pennsylvania.

In addition to his associate and head coaching experience, Pisano has worked as a clinician at the prestigious Riseball Camp, one of the top softball camps in the area bringing in girls from all over the country. Pisano also taught clinics at several showcases for travel softball players. He brings his expertise of the game along with successful hitting and defensive strategies and the ability to recruit on a national level to Wagner.

In all, Pisano has over 20 years of experience in softball coaching. He played baseball at the collegiate level, spending a season at C.W. Post before playing three years at St. Francis Brooklyn.

Along with his athletic background, Pisano worked as a currency broker on Wall Street for 27 years. He is a native of Brooklyn, NY.
