De Gore comes to Grymes Hill after recently graduating from Southern Connecticut State University where she earned her degree in History. A three-year member of the Owls swim team, De Gore received scholar athlete and academic All-American honors.
De Gore has coached 50-person teams in Long Island, as well as maintained a position at the Hamden, CT, YMCA as the Head Age Group Swim Coach. In the summer of 2010, De Gore took on a counselor role at the University of Southern California swim camp, where she worked alongside Olympic head coach Dave Salo.
"We are thrilled to have Laura joining us here at Wagner,” said Wagner head coach Mark Sowa. “Laura has competed for some great programs and in a short amount of time has amassed some excellent coaching experience, most recently out at USC with the Trojan swim camp. Her enthusiasm is contagious as is her love of the sport. I am sure she will quickly become an asset to our team."
