Chris Cordova was named Wagner's Assistant Athletic Director For Sports Performance in 2023 after serving two years as a graduate assistant role with the Seahawks.
At Wagner, Cordova has served as first assistant for Football Strength and Conditioning and was responsible for data collection and analysis, programming, injury modifications, load management of the athletes, and liaison to the athletic training staff.
Additionally, Cordova has been the Seahawks' lead sports scientist with the use of various modalities such as Just Jump! mats, Hand Dynamometers, and Beyond Pulse Heart Rate Monitors.
Cordova also acted as head strength and conditioning coach for Wagner's Women's Lacrosse, Men’s Lacrosse, and Softball programs with complete responsibility of all strength training, conditioning, sprinting, agility training, as well as, integrating an intensive load management protocol.
Cordova arrived on Grymes Hill after a stint with Campbell University, where he served as a graduate assistant for the football, track and field, and women’s tennis programs. Cordova was responsible for the design and implementation of strength and conditioning plans for each sport.
Before Campbell, Cordova interned as part of the strength and conditioning staff at the University of Cincinnati, working closely with the football program.
Cordova worked as the strength and conditioning coach at E.S.S.A Sports Performance, where he programmed various training protocols, with emphasis on proper lifting techniques.
Before moving to E.S.S.A, he was the assistant strength and conditioning coach at Hendrick Motorsports. At Hendrick Motorsports, he worked with all the Hendrick Motorsports athletes that competed in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
He began his career with Stewart-Haas Racing as a strength and conditioning intern, where he created, led, and assisted team workouts.
Cordova earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2017.
