Chad Gayle

Chad Gayle joined the Wagner College men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in September 2025.

Before arriving on Grymes Hill, Gayle served as a Graduate Assistant with Seton Hall University from 2023 to 2025. In that role, he assisted with player development, film breakdown, and scouting while helping manage recruiting databases and coordinating daily operations. He played a key role in the development of All-Big East 1st Team member Kadary Richmond and Big East All-Freshman team member Isaiah Coleman. He also worked closely with the NIT Most Outstanding Player Al-Amir Dawes and All-Tournament team selection Dre Davis. Gayle also contributed to the Pirates’ 2024 NIT Championship title.

Gayle brings extensive coaching experience at both the collegiate and grassroots levels. He previously served as Associate Head Coach at Georgian Court University, where he coordinated recruiting, film, and offensive systems, and worked with all-conference athletes. From 2019 to 2023, he was the head coach of the New Jersey Panthers AAU 17U team, helping produce more than 100 college athletes, including several at the Division I level. He has also held positions as an assistant coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University–Florham, a youth basketball coach with the Washington Wizards, and a varsity assistant coach at Phoebus High School in Virginia.

Gayle earned his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Hampton University in 2016 and completed his MBA in Sports Management from Seton Hall University in 2025. He is a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), Black Coaches Association (BCA), and Rising Coaches Community.
