Matt Smith

Matt Smith joins the Wagner women’s soccer staff for his second year as an assistant coach for the 2013 season.

Smith was an integral member of the 2003 National Junior College semifinalist Herkimer County Community College soccer squad that finished the season ranked #3 in the national polls. At HCCC Smith garnered Honorable Mention All-Region honors, was in the top 5 nationally in both points and goals scored,  as well as being named to the National Championship All-Tournament team. Smith culminated his collegiate playing career as a two-year starter for Adelphi University in Garden City,  NY,  leading the Panthers in goals his senior year.

Before joining the Seahawks' staff,  Smith was at the US Athletic Training Center in Manhattan and had stints with the Amityville Soccer Club and John S. Burke High School in Goshen,  NY.

A native of Warwick, NY, Smith graduated Cum Laude from Adelphi University with a BS in Sports Management and is currently pursuing a Masters in Health Care Administration at Wagner.
