Former Seahawk standout and May, 2011 graduate Carina Giles enters her second season as an assistant coach at her alma mater.
A native of Mohton, PA, Giles was a four-year letterwinner in both water polo and swimming at Governor Mifflin High School. During her tenure as a Seahawk, Giles accumulated 81 goals, is ranked third on the all-time assists record list with a total of 104, eighth in all-time steals with 118 and fourth in exclusions drawn with 112.
“We are excited to have Carina join the team in a coaching aspect” said Radmonovich. “As a dedicated leader this past season, Carina’s commitment to the team is unmatched and we feel that she will be a valuable asset to the coaching staff. Her knowledge and passion for the sport will be a positive addition to the team and I look forward to having her coach next to me as she continues to remain active in Wagner’s water polo program.”
Serving as a co-captain for the duration of the 2011 season, Giles started in all 32 games and led Wagner to the 2011 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship game. A member of the 2011 MAAC Water Polo All-Academic Team, Giles will graduate from Wagner later this month with a Bachelor’s of Science in psychology with minors in gender studies and art.
In addition to her coaching duties, Giles will pursue a Master’s degree in Education.
