Rachel Florek

Rachel Florek has joined the Wagner women's lacrosse staff ahead of the 2022 season.

Florek started 42 of 43 games in net for the Louisville Cardinals from 2019-2021, finishing her career with 348 saves, most in program history, and a .426 save percentage, third-best in program history.

As a redshirt sophomore in 2019, she made 113 saves in 18 games, including three games with at least 10 saves, topped by a 13-stop effort against Vanderbilt.

During the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign, Florek posted a 5-4 record with 95 saves, tops in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and fourth-most in the nation. Florek broke the program record for saves in a game with 17 against No. 14 Michigan, then tied the mark eight days later against Virginia Tech.

Last spring, she recorded 140 saves, good for second in the ACC, eighth in the NCAA, and good for fifth-most in a single season in school history.

Beyond her many accomplishments as a player, Florek helped coordinate and operate multiple lacrosse clinics for Louisville. In addition, she recently founded the organization, Women Athletes Value Empowerment (WAVE), at Louisville. The organization’s main mission/goal is to help create a safe place for female student-athletes to come together and provide support for one another.

In addition to her coaching responsibilities at Wagner, Florek will also pursue a Master's Degree during her time on Grymes Hill.
