Marvin Azor took over as head coach the Wagner College cross country and track & field programs in July 2025.
He first joined the Seahawks' coaching staff in September 2023 as an assistant coach. Azor takes over following the departure of longtime head coach Joe Stasi, leading the men’s and women’s cross country teams each fall, before guiding the track & field squads during the winter and spring seasons.
Azor joined the Seahawks in August 2023 as an assistant coach, working primarily with jumpers and hurdlers. In two years on Grymes Hill, Wagner athletes set seven school records and earned 18 All-NEC honors. Azor also contributed to three NEC Championship teams and was part of three coaching staffs that earned Coaching Staff of the Year accolades. In addition to his on-field coaching duties, he was involved in recruiting, travel coordination, and facility coordination.
Prior to Wagner, Azor served as an assistant coach at St. Francis College Brooklyn beginning in August 2021. While with the Terriers, he led the men's triple jump group to a national top-15 ranking and coached athletes to six school records, 10 IC4A/ECAC qualifying marks, and six All-Region honors. He also implemented academic support initiatives, including study hall and community service programs.
Azor’s professional background also includes his time at the Park Slope Armory YMCA in Brooklyn, where he served as a sports coach and assistant to the coordinator. There, he helped increase summer program revenue, developed and launched the facility’s first youth track program, and trained new staff on best practices for working with children.
A 2013 graduate of the University of New Haven, Azor holds a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with a minor in Quantitative Analysis. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University.
