Elizabeth Szambel joins Wagner athletics as a graduate assistant coach with the triathlon program in fall 2025 after wrapping up a five-year career as a student-athlete with the Seahawks.

Now in her second year of Wagner’s Master’s of Business Administration program, Szambel spent her first year in graduate school working with Wagner College’s Alumni Office and Financial Aid Office as a graduate assistant.

Szambel received a Bachelor of Science from Wagner’s Nicolais School of Business in May 2024. During her undergraduate career, Szambel was also a member of the Business Ambassadors Club as the marketing and social media chairman, where she managed community events, recruited members and mentored underclassmen.

As a student-athlete competing on the cross country and track & field teams as a distance runner from fall 2020 through spring 2025, Szambel was part of Wagner’s first-ever Indoor and Outdoor track & field championships for the women’s team in 2025, in addition to logging three personal-best performances that season.
