Kristen Hayes is in her second year with the Seahawks’ track and field program after a successful academic and athletic career at Bryant University.
In her first season as assistant coach, Hayes was vital in helping the coaching staff earn the 2017 Northeast Conference (NEC) Indoor Track & Field Coaching Staff of the Year award.
A total of six different men's school record were shattered during the indoor season while having a total of six NEC Rookie of the Week awards being handed out during the indoor campaign.
During the winter, Hayes was a member of the inaugural fencing program. She won two of three points in helping Wagner claming the Foil competition over LIU Post back on December 10. Additionally, she won two matches against NJIT and Fairleigh Dickinson back at the FDU Invitational on February 11.
Before arriving at Wagner, Hayes was a standout for fellow NEC-member, Bryant University. There, Hayes was a seven-time ECAC qualifier, a 14-time NEICAAA qualifier, two-time NEC champion in the 400m hurdles and holds school records in nine different events. Hayes also served as a team captain for two years.
Hayes’ additional work experience includes internships at Ayco as well as Bryant University Athletics, where she served as a marketing assistant where she helped with planning, coordinating and implementing marketing campaigns for the Bulldogs.
Hayes holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.
