Wagner College Director of Athletics Brendan Fahey has announced the hiring of Frank Gargano as the Seahawks’ new head men’s golf coach ahead of the 2024-25 season.

No stranger to Staten Island, Gargano has built a reputation for his coaching abilities. He founded Shot Shaver Golf, a golf practice and instructional facility on the island. There, he oversaw daily operations, staff and client relations while also conducting individual and group golf lessons for players of all skill levels.

Prior to founding Shot Shaver Golf in May 2022, Gargano was the director of instruction at Next Level Indoor Golf from February 2021 up until the inception of Shot Shaver Golf.

Gargano graduated from SUNY Delhi with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Professional Golf Development. He was a three-year member of the golf team at SUNY Delhi.

Following graduation, Gargano was a first assistant golf professional at Richmond County Country Club. While there, he organized and hosted golf tournaments, clinics and special events.
