SUPPORT FUTURE PROJECTS

Locker Room Enhancements
Your gift can support future locker room enhancements for our student-athletes and teams.
These enhancements will enrich the current student-athlete experience, as well as assist our coaches in recruiting high caliber future Seahawks.
Help us enhance these spaces and continue to compete for conference championships!

Golf Simulator Room
The men's and women's golf teams are fundraising for an indoor golf simulator that would be located on campus.
Doing so would instantly give the program a state-of-the-art training solution that would allow them to utilize at any time and
would include the option to "play" at world-class courses from the comfort of campus.

RECENT IMPROVEMENTS

Baseball Locker Room
During the winter of 2023, the Wagner College baseball program completely renovated its current locker room space with a transformation into a state-of-the-art locker room facility. The project saw the replacement of old metal lockers with wood-laminate lockers, new flooring, branding updates and much more. The project was completely donor-funded and coincided with the team's best year on the diamond in over 20 years.

The Spiro Sports Center received a number of branding and cosmetic upgrades over the summer of 2023 highlighted by new acrylic logos,
new flooring and updates to dozens of student-athlete photo frames throughout the building to provide a refreshed and modern look throughout the building.
MBB Foreign Tour
Men's Basketball Foreign Tour
Over the summer, the Wagner College men's basketball team enjoyed a foreign tour in Saint Thomas.
Wagner played two games against the U.S. Virgin Islands national team, earning a split on consecutive nights.
Apart from playing two games, the Wagner delegation took in numerous cultural experiences, including a catamaran tour, a swimming session with dolphins and sea lions,
along with sightseeing tours of multiple historical venues in Saint Thomas.
The trip was made possible through fundraising efforts by the men's basketball program.

YEAR IN REVIEW

Wagner College saw a number of highlights on the team and individual fronts as part of a largely successful 2022-23 campaign.

The academic year roared out of the gate in the fall with the field hockey team and cross country teams both taking home hardware. After winning a share of the NEC regular season title for the first time in the program's young history, the field hockey team saw graduating senior Julia Cruces Pastorino make history of her own after being named the NEC Offensive Player of the Year.
The cross country team took home its third NEC title in the last the last four years, which was just the start of an unprecedented academic year for the Seahawks.

The Donald Copeland era kicked off with an impressive win at Temple to usher in the basketball season, while the women's side started 6-0 in NEC play for the first time ever. The men's track & field team took home another trophy with a first-place finish at the NEC Indoor Championships, while Ruth-Ann Chambers paced the women's side to a second-place finish for the first time in program history after capturing gold in the 60m hurdles and the 4x400m relay.

In the spring, the women's lacrosse and baseball teams both earned postseason berths and reached their respective NEC Championships, while Thomas Choi finished as the individual runner-up in men's golf. Men's track & field completed the vaunted "Triple Crown" with an outdoor NEC title before Jason Marchese and Michael Pepe went on to qualify for the NCAA Championship. Also in April, football defensive lineman Titus Leo became the latest Seahawk to reach the NFL ranks after being drafted in the sixth round by the Indianapolis Colts.

A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS2023-24 Seahawk Club Cover

Friends of Wagner Athletics,

I write to you with excitement and optimism as another academic year is in full swing. Our Seahawks plan to build off last year's success and represent the Green and White with pride and dignity on the field and in the classroom.

We are excited to welcome our two new varsity programs, Men's Fencing and Cheerleading, as they begin competition this fall. These additions grow our department to 28 varsity programs and over 625 student-athletes.

As we continue to plan strategically for the future, our goals remain the same. Our staff will work tirelessly for academic success, athletic success, and a positive student-athlete experience. We plan to earmark our Seahawk Club gifts and efforts towards enhancing and improving our athletic facilities and branding.

In order to do all of that, your support is more critical and impactful to the future of Wagner College Athletics and our amazing student-athletes than ever before. Whether you support one particular program or all of them, believe me when I say: every gift counts, especially as we chart our path forward. I encourage you to take a look at some of the exciting projects we are currently fundraising for and pledge your gift directly toward those teams or projects.

Last year, we enjoyed incredible success across so many different channels. On the field, we won three NEC titles and saw a few other teams nearly win conference crowns of their own. Our in-the-classroom success was more evident than ever before, with student-athletes boasting a 3.44 GPA for the year and over 200 of them making the dean's list. Collectively, we raised the bar to levels not seen in quite some time, and we owe it all to our amazing student-athletes!

I can't wait to see what we can do again this year and beyond. Thank you again for your continued support and belief. Let's Fly!

Go Seahawks!
