Strong First Half Not Enough As Football Falls 39-24 At Saint Francis U

Loretto, PA - Behind three total touchdowns by quarterback Jaalon Frazier, the Wagner College Football team led 14-6 at the half and 21-19 midway through the third quarter, but it wasn't enough, as the Seahawks fell 39-24 at Saint Francis U on Saturday afternoon.

Frazier finished with 216 yards and two touchdowns through the air, while also running for a score, as the Seahawks held a slim 361-360 advantage in total yards.

After falling behind 6-0 in the first quarter, Frazier led the Seahawks down the field, hitting junior Todd Simmons down the right sideline for a 39-yard touchdown pass, giving Wagner a 7-6 lead with 7:55 to play in the second quarter.

The Seahawk defense added another big play, as junior Coby Calvin came up with an interception to set the Wagner offense up with good field position.
Frazier and the offense made the most of the opportunity, as the Georgia native punched it in from two yards out with 4:38 to play in the first half, giving the Seahawks the 14-6 advantage at the midway mark.

The Red Flash opened the second half with a score to pull within one at 14-13, but Wagner answered immediately, as Frazier hit freshman wide receiver Randy Fizer for the 82-yard touchdown pass. For Fizer, it was the first touchdown of his collegiate career.
Saint Francis U took the lead with two touchdowns in three minutes. With 14:49 to play in the fourth quarter, freshman Austin Hosier hit a 42-yard field goal to pull the Seahawks within one at 25-24, but the Red Flash pulled away late for the victory.

Senior Chris Collier led the Seahawks with 14 carries for 73 yards, while graduate student Jeremiah Lorick hauled in a team-high four catches.

Defensively, junior Gabriel Bryan led the Green and White with 12 tackles, while sophomore Jalin Justice had 10 total tackles on the day.

Next up, the Seahawks will travel to FBS member Temple on Saturday, September 25.
