Hackensack, NJ – The Wagner College women's soccer team sustained its first loss in Northeast Conference (NEC) play, falling to the Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights, 4-0, on Friday evening.
With the loss, the Seahawks fall to 3-6-3 overall and 0-1-1 in league play while the Knights improve to 4-7-2 while improving to 2-0 in league action, sitting in a tie with Saint Francis U and Sacred Heart with six points.

Delaney Beck (Bakersfield, CA/Garces Memorial) turned away a scoring opportunity from Jessi Reinhardt, freshman forward
Mya Donnelly (Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) was able to find some space but her shot attempt was blocked two minutes into the contest.
Wagner had a chance in the 17th minute but junior midfielder
Maria D'Amico (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township header was stopped by FDU's goalkeeper, Amanda Fitzgerald. Two minutes later, FDU netted the first marker of the contest. Off a corner kick from Reinhardt, Sofia Albertsson was able to put the ball in the back of the net after a well-timed header.
The Knights continued on the attack with back-to-back scoring chances that were denied by Beck. But in the 27th minute, the Knights went up 2-0 as Reinhardt was able to beat Beck from 30-plus yards out as the ball nicked off Beck's hands.
FDU tried to extend its lead late in the stanza but Beck was able to stop another chance, as in the 44th minute, Andrea Garcia's shot attempt was corralled by the Seahawk netminder.
Both teams opened the second half with a shot attempt as junior forward
Kristen Bischoff (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) chance was turned aside by Fitzgerald while Albertsson looked for her second goal of the game in the 48th minute, but her chance was blocked by the Seahawks' defense.
The Knights went ahead 3-0 in the 49th minute as Viktorija Miseljic received a through ball from Daria Jones that beat Seahawk junior goalkeeper,
Katie Viscardi (Hazlet, NJ/Mater Dei Prep), who entered at the start of the second half, in a 1-on-1 situation. Three minutes later, FDU tacked on its fourth goal of the contest on Jones' second helper, as Chloe Chefero was credited with the tally.

Maria Nunez (East Greenwich, RI/East Greenwich), freshman midfielder
Julia Fitzsimmons (Point Pleasant, NJ/Point Pleasant), Bischoff and freshman midfielder
Lindsay Weiss (Warrington, PA/Central Bucks High School South) were all credited with a shot on goal.
Beck made six saves on the evening while Viscardi was credited with one save on eight shots faced.
Wagner will travel to Emmitsburg, MD on October 13 as they continue NEC play with a 7:00 p.m. match against the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers.
