Philadelphia, PA - The Seahawks four game winning streak came to an end with two losses to Temple University in a non-league doubleheader at the Ambler Sports Complex by scores of 6-1 and 10-6 this afternoon. The day's outcome leaves Wagner at 12-14 overall while the Owls improved to 9-14.

Junior Katie Stevens (Reno, NV / Wooster) went 5-5 with three runs scored and two RBI on the day, but four home runs by Temple proved to be too much for the Seahawks to overcome.

In the first game, Adrienne Repsher helped Temple grab a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first with a one out two-run homer over the left center field fence. The deep flies continued for the Owls in the third innings with a solo shot from Jessica Rohn and a two run dinger from Courtney Norene.

Sophomore Andrea Lazzari (Reno, NV / Wooster) put Wagner on the board in the fourth inning with a RBI single to right. The Seahawk first baseman drove in her high school teammate Stevens who doubled inside the third base bag to lead off the frame.

The Owls added a single run in the fifth to go ahead 6-1. The Seahawks would avoid further damage in the inning escaping trouble with a line drive double play by second baseman Natalie Stephens (Jackson, NJ / Jackson) to Stevens covering the bag from short.

The Seahawks would attempt one last rally in the seventh after loading the bases with no outs on a pair of walks and a single from junior Ami Iwicki (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central). A 5-2-3 ground ball double play then killed the threat as Wagner was held scoreless in the inning.

Freshman Kate Eshelman (Reno, NV / McQueen) threw the first three innings while taking the loss on the mound and falling to 6-6 on the year. Senior Morgan Miller (Las Vegas, NV / Silverado) took over the in the fourth allowing just one run over the final three innings.

In game two the Wagner offense started early scoring five runs in the top of the first. Stevens began the scoring with an opposite field home run over the fence in left. The two-run shot was her third of the year. Grad student Joy Gallagher (Hazleton, PA / Hazleton) made it 4-0 later in the inning with a two-run double to right and came home to score herself on a single from junior Margaret Gallia (Las Vegas, NV / Community College HS).

Down, 5-0 the Owls came right back in their half of the inning, scoring three runs on an infield error and a two run home run from Repsher, her ninth of the season. After Wagner went scoreless in the top of the second, Temple went up with three more runs in the bottom half of the inning. An error and two walks loaded the bases, setting up a bouncing single through the left side brought in the first run. With the bases still full, Nicole Lee singled back up the middle to bring in two more runs as Temple took a 6-5 lead.

Junior Victoria Batistelli (Huntington Beach, CA / Huntington Beach) was hit by a pitch in her final three at bats which brought her NCAA leading total to 25 this season. She now has 44 HBPs for her career and ranks top fourth all-time in the NCAA Record Book.

In the last of the fifth, Temple put four more runs on the board coming on two-run singles from Rohn and Katie Burdeaux as the score went to 10-5. Iwicki doubled home Stevens in the top of the sixth for Wagner to account for the final margin as the game was called due to darkness.

Seahawk freshman Danielle Wagoner (Temecula, CA / Temecula Valley) (0-1)was given the loss in just her second collegiate start.
