Kissimmee, FL - Wagner held a 9-5 lead going into the bottom of the seventh, before Cornell scored five runs, including a walk off grand slam to defeat the Seahawks 10-9 in a double header split at the Rebel Games. The Seahawks won the first game 2-1, and leave Florida with an 8-6 record after the dramatic back and forth game two affair.

Cornell scored first in the second game as Nicole Cheever hit a two out RBI single into center. Jessy Berkey then made it 3-0 in favor of the Bears with a two run homer into left.

The Seahawks came back in the top of the fifth and took a 4-3 lead. After Wagner loaded the bases with a pair of walks and an error, senior Christina Hopkins (Edison, NJ / Edison) supplied the first hit of the game for the Seahawks with a two out RBI single into center that scored junior Ami Iwicki (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central). Freshman Kate Eshelman (Reno, NV / McQueen) then tied the game at 3-3 with a two run double just inside the third base bag. The Bears then made a pitching change, but to no avail as junior Katie Stevens (Reno, NV / Wooster) put the Seahawks up 4-3 with a single through the left hand side to score senior Natalie Stephens (Jackson, NJ / Jackson) who drew a pinch hit walk earlier in the game.

Cornell answered in the bottom of the inning using a lead off double that fell into center after it was lost in the sun. Devon March then tied the game at 4-4 with a single into left. Wagner managed to avoid farther trouble as Eshelman, who came into the circle after the double, got Berkey to ground out to first with the bases loaded to end the inning.

Hopkins stepped up again for Wagner in the top of the sixth; putting the Seahawks ahead 5-4 with another two out RBI single into center. After the first two batters went quietly, sophomore Jaclyn Vanore (Palisades Park, NJ / Paramus Catholic) dropped a single into right. Junior Margaret Gallia (Las Vegas, NV / Community College HS) and freshman Lacey Santone (S. Plainfield, NJ / S. Plainfield) followed with singles of their own to set up Hopkins go ahead hit.

The back and forth continued in the bottom of the sixth, as the Bears used an infield leadoff single to set the table and then scored the tying run on a two out error at second.

Like a historic prize fight, the Seahawks matched Cornell's run with four of their own in the top of the seventh. Stevens started it off with a double into left and moved to third on a throwing error. A walk and strikeout ensued grad student Joy Gallagher (Hazleton, PA / Hazleton) who reached on a bunt and brought in Stevens. Gallia brought in an additional run with a double to left before Santone made it 9-5 with a two run single up the middle.

The Bears did not go away in the bottom of the seventh, loading the bases with an error and two bloop singles. A fielders choice scored the first run before Alyson Intiher's walk-off grand slam to left center.

Seven different players had a hit in the game, while Hopkins, Stevens, Gallia and Santone posted two each.

Eshleman (4-2) was charged with the loss.

Wagner returns to the Northeast this week traveling to Iona for a doubleheader on Wednesday.
