Box Score

Moon Township, PA - After losing a hard-fought game in the first leg of their Keystone-state road trip the Wagner Seahawks were no match for Robert Morris falling 95-50 earlier tonight at the Sewall Center. With the win the Colonials move to 18-7 and 12-3 in the NEC while the Green & White falls to 3-23 and 1-14 in the NEC.

Robert Morris shot a season-high 63.9 percent (39-61) for the game, including 11-20 from beyond the arc. The Seahawks hit on just 32.1 percent (20-55) from the floor, but hit on 7-17 from beyond the arc and outrebounded the Colonials 33-28. The RMU defense also came up big forcing 22 turnovers that led to 35 points.

The Seahawks came out of the gates charged up hitting five of their first 10 shots and trailed just 12-10 with 15:09 to go. That's when the high-powered RMU attack got going as they hit 11-straight shots to highlight a game-changing 25-2 run, including 15 straight points at one time, over 5:11 to go up 37-12 with 9:58 to go in the half. Senior Jessie Collins (Crofton, MD / Arundel) then temporarily stopped the bleeding with one of her three first-half three pointers. The Colonials would continue to pour it, heading into halftime with a 58-28 lead.

In the decisive first half, the Colonials hit on a blistering 69.4 percent (25-36) of their shots, including 6-9 from beyond the arc while forcing 12 Green & White turnovers.

Freshman Naomi Augustin (Valley Stream, NY / Valley Stream Central) led the way with a career-high 12 points on four three pointers. Collins added 11 while sophomore Olivia Nagle (Acton, MA / Acton-Boxborough) also hit for 11 points to go along with seven boards, rounding out the double-digit scorers for Wagner.

Jenna Burkett paced five double-digit scorers with 28 points, fueled by eight three pointers.

The 95 points were the most allowed by the Green & White since they gave up 94 to Clemson last season and the loss mathematically eliminates the Seahawks from the chase for the eighth and final NEC playoff berth.

Wagner will now head to local-rival St. Francis (NY) for a 7 pm tilt on Thursday.
