POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - The Wagner College volleyball team wrapped up their season-opening Marist Tournament with a 1-2 record after dropping a 3-0 decision to Colgate (4-2) earlier today.
After blowing past Marist by a 3-0 score earlier in the day, the Seahawks ran out of gas falling by scores of 30-22, 30-17 and 30-26 to the Red Raiders.
Wagner had their best offensive game to date posting a season-best .173 hitting percentage, but it wasn't enough as Colgate hit .337.
Senior Kerry Krohn (Massapequa, NY / Massapequa) had another fine match posting a game-high 13 kills on a .478 hitting percentage to lead the way offensively. Sophomore Sirena LaBurn (Port Neches, TX / Port Neches) also had a strong offensive game posting six kills on a .455 hitting percentage.
Freshman Gabi Hilk (Wilmington, DE / Alexis I. DuPont) had a team-best 17 assists while senior Lydia Emnott (Neenah, WI / Neenah) added 15 assists.
The Green & White return to action next weekend when they head to the Garden State to take part in the Seton Hall Tournament (Sept. 8-9).
