Women's Tennis Picks Up Third-Straight Win In 4-1 Triumph Over SFNY

WEST WINDSOR, NJ - The eighth seeded Wagner College women's tennis picked up their third-straight win with a 4-1 victory over No. 9 SFNY in the first round of the NEC Tennis Championships in West Windsor, NJ.

At No. 3 singles, sophomore Aarti Mahtani (Montego Bay, JA / Saint Andrew's) was victorious in her match 6-1, 6-1. Classmates Pooja Patel (East Greenwich, RI / East Greenwich) and Marie Crane (Cheshire, CT / Cheshire) each won their matches in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively.

Freshman Brittany Frazza (West Caldwell, NJ / Morris Catholic) and Crane dominated in one doubles, taking the match 8-1 while senior Megan Owen (Central Islip, NY / Central Islip) and Mahtani claimed the doubles' point for Wagner with an 8-0 triumph at the No. 2 spot.
