Seahawks Dealt 19-4 Loss at Stony Brook

Stony Brook, NY - The Seahawks women's lacrosse team was dealt a 19-4 loss at host Stony Brook earlier today out on Long Island.

Wagner (4-11) fell behind 2-0 in the game before by freshman Jessica Richmond (Jenkintown, PA / Jenkintown) scored off an assist from junior Jessica Ellis (Fairport, NY / Fairport).

After two more Seawolves scores senior Heather George (W. Allenhurst, NJ / Ocean Twp.) scored her first of the game as Wagner trailed 4-2 midway through the opening half.

Stony Brook (7-6) continued to go 2 for 1 on Wagner as back to back goals were answered by a score from freshman Cara Gonzalez (Syracuse, NY / Westhill) fro a 6-3 Wagner deficit.

Unfortunatly the Seahawks were unable to stay in step offensivley as they fell behind 12-3 at the half and score just once more the final 40 minutes of game time.

George posted the final Wagner score with 6:24 left in the game. Sophomore Jessica Bajakowski earned the start and posted five ground balls to lead the team. Wagner was out shot just 31-28, but was 0-7 on free positions. The Stony Brook goalies combined for 16 saves compared to 4 for the Wagner pair.

George needs four goals in her final two games to equal her own single season school record of 56 set in 2004.
