Queens, NY -- The Wagner College Seahawks lost to the St. John's Red Storm, 16-4 this afternoon at DeSilva Memorial Field in men's lacrosse action. The set back moves Wagner to 0-8 on the season as they continue their surge toward their first triumph.

The first half had its share of strife for the Seahawks as they would see the opposing Red Storm score the first 10 goals of the game, trailing by a score of 6-0 at halftime.

It wasn't until 5:07 left in the third quarter that junior Mike Coleman (Rainbow Lakes, NJ/Boonton) found freshman Jeff Policicchio (Novi, MI/Novi) for the goal finally putting Wagner on the board, but still down in the contest, 10-1. It was Policicchio's fifth straight game in which he scored at least a goal as he continues his promising freshman campaign. He would find the back of the net once more with 7:47 left in the game, the final tally for Wagner on the day.

Josh Hamilton (Jr., Millersville, MD/Serverna Park) and Andrew Daly (So., Jamesville, NY/Jamesville-DeWitt) also contributed scores for the Seahawks.

The goal was minded for much of the game by senior Chris Sochaki (Brant Beach, NJ/Shawnee) who ended up with 10 saves.
