Bloomington, IN -- The Wagner College women's water polo team was given a crushing 12-11 defeat from 16th ranked Michigan in the second game of the Indiana Fluid Five Invitational moving their record to 14-9 overall on the season. After defeating Carthage 14-1 in the morning, they saw a back and forth battle all afternoon, trading goals with the Wolverines for much of the contest with a chance at the end to knot it up.

With 32 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the Seahawks saw their opportunity to get even vanish when they committed an untimely turnover.

Despite the loss, Wagner saw a great performance turned in from their goalie junior Katie Hauck (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) who minded the net the entire game and wound up with an impressive 13 saves. The offense came primarily from a three-pronged attack consisting of junior Stacey Travous (New Ulm, MN/Cumberland Valley) and senior Sara Kramer (Carlisle, PA/Cumberland Valley) who each tallied 3 a piece, and senior Courtney Crase (Saratoga, CA/Saratoga) who racked up 2.

The Seahawks are back in action tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. when they take on host Indiana University.
