Final Stats

Providence, RI -- The Wagner College Seahawks fell to the Providence Friars, 16-3 this afternoon in men's lacrosse action. The loss moves them to 0-7 on the season as they continue the search for their first victory.

The Green & White found themselves fighting an uphill battle all afternoon as they trailed the Friars 11-1 at halftime on an unassisted score from junior Taylor Poschmann (Cold Spring Harbor, NY/Cold Spring Harbor) with 10:46 left in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, trailing 14-1, the Seahawks saw two quick unassisted scores from freshman Jeff Policicchio (Novi, MI/Novi) and junior Mike Coleman (Rainbow Lakes, NJ/Boonton). It proved too little too late, however, as the Friars would tack on one more score and hold the Seahawks scoreless in the final period.

Senior goalie Chris Sochaki (Brant Beach, NJ/Shawnee) turned in another respectable effort as he racked up a prolific 19 saves.
