Second Half Seals Wagner's Fate in 11-7 Loss vs Niaraga at Spring Fling

West Palm Beach, FL - The Seahawks were out scored 6-2 in the second half in an 11-7 loss to Niaraga at the Spring Fling in W. Palm Beach earlier this afternoon. The defeat leaves the Seahawks at 0-4 on the year as they head back north.

Wagner held a 5-4 lead in the first half before Niaraga scored in the closing minutes to knot the game at 5-5 going into intermission. The Purple Eagles then outscored the Seahawks by a count of 6-2 in the second half for the win.

Senior Heather George (W. Allenhurst, NJ / Ocean Township), Darby Biggart (Crownsville, MD / Archbishop Spalding) and Anne Thomas (Alexanderia, VA / Edmund Burke) each scored two goals in teh game for Wagner. Freshman Cara Gonzalez (Syracuse, NY / Westhill) continued her all around effort with a goal and a team high four ground balls.

FReshman Amy Jones (Jarretsville, MD / N. Harford) made 13 stops in goal, while classmate Jessica Richmond (Jenkintown, PA / Jenkintown) secured four draw controls.

Wagner is back in action on Sunday, March 19 as they host Drexel University in Wagner College Stadium at 2:00 pm.
