In the second game Wagner came up short in a pitchers duel 2-1 loss vs Tennessee-Martin.
TM struck first in the second game scoring in the top of the first when a pair of two out singles sandwiched a walk for a 1-0 lead. Wagner would then fight back with a run the third to even the score at 1-1. After Iwicki drew a one out walk and moved to second on a wild pitch, Stevens pulled a screamer just inside the first base bag to score the run.
The Skyhawks regained the lead in the top of the fifth inning in what would prove to be the winning run. After a one out double and a walk loaded the bases, TM's Justine Pineda drew a 3-2 count and then fouled off four pitches before grounding into a 6-5 fielder's choice that scored the go ahead run from third.
The Seahawks would threaten in the bottom of the seventh after Lazarri led off with a single and then moved to second on a wild pitch with one out. A fly out and an infield pop-up then closed out the game.
Hopkins (0-2) was charged with the loss going all seven innings with the two runs on ten hits. She also struck out four, including the side in the seventh with a runner on. Hopkins would account for the other Wagner hit dropping a two out single into left int eh second inning.
Wagner returns to action on Tuesday at the games facing Saint Louis and Rider.
