Newark, DE - The men's lacrosse team lost suffered thier second loss of the year falling 16-2 to host No. 13 Delaware earlier today.
Senior Tom Marchetti (Washington, DC / Gonzaga) and sophomore Andrew Daly (Jamesville, NY / Jamesville Dewitt) each scored in the game for Wagner. Facing a high powered Blue Hen offense the Seahwaks were out shot 16-0 in the first quarter as they fell behind 4-0.
Delaware would then score four straight goals to start the second quarter before Marchetti put the Seahawks on the board with a tally at 8:03 off an assists from junior Josh Hamilton (Millersville, MD / Serverna Park).
Daly would then add the final goal of the game scoring for the Seahawks with 11:29 to play off a Mike Coleman (Rainbow Lakes, NJ / Boonton) Senior goalie Chris Sochacki (Brant Beach, NJ / Shawnee) made 15 saves in goal in three quarters for Wagner.
The Seahawks would manage just five shots in the game and lost 21 of 22 faceoffs.
The team is back in action on March 7 as they travel to Loyola (MD).
