Staten Island, NY - Wagner fell to visiting Army by a 3-0 score Wednesday, Oct. 12 at the Spiro Sports Center. The Seahawks dropped the three-game match by scores of 30-19, 30-21 and 30-24. With the loss, the green and white move to 3-13 on the year while the Black Knights improve to 13-3 on the season.

In game one, Army jumped out to a quick 8-1 lead before running away with the game 30-19.

Wagner raced out to an early 4-2 lead in the second game before Army countered with a 3-0 run to make the score 5-4. Army would not relinquish the lead as they won game two 30-21.

The Seahawks came charging out of the gates in the third game, taking an early 3-0 lead. The Black Knights then came back with six unanswered points to go up 6-3. Wagner, however, would not go away as they came back to tie the score at seven. Army then countered with three straight points, taking an insurmountable 10-7 lead. Army closed out the third game and the match by a score of 30-24.

Freshman Brandy Barnett (Claremont, CA/St. Lucy's Priory) led the green and white with a game-high 11 kills and 10 digs for her second double/double of the year. Freshman Kelly Kasper (West Windsor, NJ/Windsor Plainsboro South) paced the team with 26 assists and juniors Trish Morris (Queensland, Australia/St. Pats College) and Kerry Krohn (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) each had a team-high 15 digs.

Wagner hits the road for their Northeast Conference (NEC) opener at Quinnipiac on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m.
