Leah Gallagher, a former dominant defender at Notre Dame, enters her second season as an assistant coach with the Wagner women’s lacrosse program.
A native of Radnor, PA, was a dominant defender for Notre Dame, a perennially nationally-ranked program that competes in the ACC, the nation’s most competitive women’s lacrosse conference that placed three teams in the 2015 Final Four. As a senior in 2015, Gallagher started in all 20 games for the Fighting Irish while serving as a team captain.

During her stellar career with the Fighting Irish, where she was a three-year starter , four-year letterwinner and a stalwart on the Note Dame defense, Gallagher played in 69 career games, collecting 54 ground balls while being credited with 32 caused turnovers.
A 2011 graduate of Radnor High School, she lettered three years in lacrosse and basketball and one year in field hockey and helped lead the Raider lacrosse team to consecutive state titles from freshman to junior year . Ranked in the top-five nationally as a freshman and junior, Gallagher served as a team captain as a senior. Her brother, Marty, was a lacrosse team captain in 2011 at the U.S. Naval Academy.
Gallagher is a 2015 Notre Dame graduate who majored information technology management.
In addition to her duties with the Seahawk coaching staff, Gallagher will pursue a masters of business administration.
