2011-12 Freshman Season: Appeared in 26 games for the Seahawks, starting in contests against LIU Brooklyn (1/23) and Quinnipiac (1/28) … Scored a career-high eight points to go with six rebounds in productive 11-minute stint at Quinnipiac (1/28) … Contributed six points and six rebounds in a career-high 21 minutes at Central Connecticut (2/25) … Tallied six rebounds in nine minutes against Mount St. Mary’s (2/11) … Recorded seven points on 3-of-4 shooting at Sacred Heart (1/30) … Logged six points in seven minutes in her collegiate debut against Army (11/11).

Scholastic/Personal: Nwaigwe played for Coach Daniel Drumm at Valley Stream South High School. The 6-3 center is agile and athletic with a tremendous work ethic. A long, athletic post player who runs the floor very well, she averaged 17.1 points, 14.2 rebounds, 6.7 blocks, and 1.7 steals per game as a senior while earning All-Class honors. Her productive senior season came on the heels of a junior campaign where she averaged 13.3 points, 14.4 rebounds and 6.1 blocks per game en route to being named All-Conference. Nwaigwe demonstrated her all-around game vs. Hewlett High School when she scored 15 points, grabbed 20 rebounds and blocked five shots. A tremendous student, she was an AP Scholar who graduated with a 93 average and was a member of the National Honor Society, Language Honor Society, Occupational Educational Society as well as the Athletic Honor Society.
