Somerset, NJ – Graduate student
Sierra Clark has been named to the 2017-18 All-Northeast Conference (NEC) First Team, the league office announced on Wednesday.
The 5-11 forward, who was recruited to and played for
Heather Jacobs at Adelphi University, where she went on to earn Division II All-American honors last season, averaged 18.6 points and 9.7 rebounds per game in her one season as a Seahawk, ranking second in the NEC in both categories.
In addition, the 5-11 forward was the league leader in blocked shots with 68, a figure that ranks second on the Seahawk all-time single-season list behind only Ugo Nwaigwe who had 114 blocks in 2013-14.
Last week, the Hughesville, MD native added two more double-double to finish the season with an NEC-best 16 for the season. On Friday night at RMU, the 5-11 forward had 23 points, 13 rebounds and five blocked shots. She followed that effort with a 19-point, 10-rebound game at SFU on Sunday in her final game as a Seahawk.
Earlier this season, Clark poured in 34 points at LIU Brooklyn (1/13), which was a Wagner high for her and two shy of her collegiate career of 36, which came vs. Saint Michael's (1/9/16) when she was at Adelphi. Several of Clark's best games came against the best as her second-highest output as a Seahawk was a 30-point effort vs. second-place Saint Francis U (1/22).
Her top rebounding game was an 18-rebound effort vs. regular season NEC champion Robert Morris (1/20), and also had a 17-rebound effort vs. Saint Francis U (1/22). Against Robert Morris (1/20), which earned the top seed in the upcoming NEC Tournament, Clark blocked a career-high nine shots.
