Somerset, NJ – Junior Andrea Gustafsson of the Wagner College swimming and diving team has been named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Co-Swimmer of the Week for her performance at Rutgers University's Frank Elm Invitational this past weekend, the conference announced earlier today.
Gustafsson, who shares the award with Central Connecticut's Aiden Devers, helped the Seahawks claim a seventh-place finish out of 14 teams while finishing first among NEC competition, as the junior led Wagner in points during the three-day event.

In the 100 Free, Gustafsson garnered the best individual finish by a Seahawk on the weekend, placing seventh in 51.66, while also placing fourth in the B-Final of the 100 Fly, touching in 56.83. Both of her times are currently the fastest in the NEC for the respective events.

The Swedish international also shined as part of the Green and White's relay teams, helping the 200 Free Relay finish fifth out of 22 teams in 1:34.39, while placing sixth out of 28 teams as part of the 400 Free Relay (3:28.49).

Gustafsson becomes the third Seahawk to earn an NEC weekly honor this season, joining freshman Wyeth Spike, who was named the NEC Rookie of the Week on October 31, and junior diver Adrianna Warning, who earned NEC Diver of the Week honors on October 24.

Next up, the Seahawks will look to defend their ECAC Winter Championships title in East Meadow, NY, starting on December 1.
