Pictured Above: Sophomore attack Olivia StreileinPhiladelphia, PA – After falling behind by an early 5-1 deficit, the Wagner women's lacrosse team stormed back to take an 8-7 halftime lead but Saint Joseph's wound up with the 13-12 victory when midfielder Kelly Phelan scored the sudden death game-winner in the second overtime.
In seeing their two-game winning streak come to an end, the Green & White fall to 2-3 on the season while the Hawks improve to 2-1.
Sophomore attack
Olivia Streilein (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape) netted a hat trick for the Seahawks while adding one assist while junior midfielder
Shea Gegan (Belmar, NJ/Manasquan), who was named NEC Defensive Player of the Week earlier in the day, added two goals and two assists.
Also scoring two goals for the Green & White during this back-and-forth affair that featured seven ties and seven lead changes, were junior midfielder
Gretchen Fay (Spring Lake Heights, NJ/Manasquan) and freshman midfielder
Lauren Ednie (Verona, NJ/Verona).
The Seahawks are back in action on Wednesday, March 4 when they host the Temple Owls in a 3:00 p.m. contest at Hameline Field.
