Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College Marching Band continued its historical second-year of reinstatemen by reaching another set of milestones under band director Jose Luis Diaz, Jr.The Marching Seahawks recently made their first movie appearance, depicting a high school drumline in pep rally scene for the film "
Nerve", starring Dave Franco and Emma Roberts, which is set to be released in 2016. The pep rally scene was filmed on the Wagner campus and took some nine hours to shoot.

"It was incredibly exciting, a really great opportunity," said Diaz. "We're very prominent on social media, so the film's production crew was able to search us out, and we obliged."
Another milestone recently attained was a feature in
Halftime Magazine, a publication that highlights the sights, sounds, and spirit of the marching arts.
In addition to a mention in the July/August issue of Halftime Magazine (pictured at right), a feature story in the November/December issue focused on how marching bands located in the northeast portion of the U.S. cope with performing in wintry weather conditions.
In this article, Diaz was interviewed, along with James Preste from "Cheer Factor" and Joe Martinez from "Band Shoppe," with the discussion focusing on the best clothing options and brands for rehearsal and outdoor performances in inclement weather conditions.
