Nicole Bell (Branchville, NJ/ Sussex County Technical) of the women's cross country team and Anthon Frondelius (Munkedal, Sweden /The Gunnery) from the men's golf team have been selected as the Wagner
Walsh Electric Student Athletes of the Month for September.
Bell paced the Green & White on the course for the first two times in her career. The Branchville, NJ, native began the month at the LIU Post Invitational, placing third in a team-best 18:59.06 while helping lead the Seahawks to a second-place team finish. Two weeks later, Bell took 17thtook second place at the 5K Ted Owen Invitational with a time of 18:36.07. Running on the site of this year's conference championship, Bell led Wagner to a sixth-place finish while finishing 11th among NEC student-athletes.
Frondelius had a stellar month, highlighted by his setting a school record with an astounding six-under par 65 in the second round of the Rutgers Invitational. His blistering 65 was sandwiched in between rounds of 70 and 73, which gave him a five-under par 213 and a third-place individual finish. Frondelius' play helped Wagner to a fourth-place finish in the 18-team field. During the month, he also shot a remarkable 67 at the Leo Keenan Invitational while capping September with a 69 at the George Mason Invitational.
