VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS WAGNER-MONMOUTH

Staten Island, NY –
It was a gorgeous Saturday day for football and celebrations on Grymes Hill.

The day began with the much-anticipated pre-game ceremony, dedicating the field at Wagner College Stadium as “Hameline Field, “an honor bestowed on Walt Hameline, the Seahawks' long-time athletic director and winner of 200-plus games.

At halftime it was time to recognize the 25th anniversary of the 1987 team, a unit that authored the “unforgettable season,” while delivering the school a Division III National Title and a 13-1 record.

The game itself was an explosive one, featuring a host of big plays from a pair of teams that combined to score 55 points. A highlight for Wagner was an electrifying 89-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by sophomore Otis Wright (Fort Lauderdale, FL/ Dillard). In the end, it was the Hawks from Monmouth who executed best, knocking off the Seahawks 38-17.

Afterwards, an emotional Hameline was honored with a reception in the VIP Lounge on the second floor of the Spiro Center, an event attended by his family – wife Debi and daughters Kristen and Kelly, along with his “second family,” as he called them, the members of his Wagner family.

Wagner athletics was there to capture it all and we hope you enjoy the sights and sounds from this special day.
