Day 3 Results | Final Results
Piscataway, NJ – The Wagner College swimming and diving team picked up six top-15 finishes on the third and final day of the Frank Elm Invitational, hosted by Rutgers University, finishing seventh out of 14 teams with 553 total points.
For the second straight meet, the Green and White bested defending Northeast Conference (NEC) champion Central Connecticut to finish as the top NEC school, with LIU Brooklyn finishing in 11
th place.
The US Naval Academy took the top spot in the three-day event, outlasting the host Scarlet Knights, as well as Columbia University, at the prestigious annual invitational.
The Seahawks' 400 Free Relay, consisting of senior
Maddie McNichol, freshman
Ida Eriksen, junior
Andrea Gustafsson, and senior
Kirsty Hessing, finished sixth overall out of 28 teams, touching the wall in 3:28.49.
Gustafsson garnered the best individual finish by a Seahawk on the weekend, placing seventh in the 100 Free in 51.66, ahead of Hessing, who placed 11
th (51.82).
McNichol, Wagner's senior captain and reigning NEC champion, placed ninth in the 1650 Free with a time of 17.10.86, while sophomore Makenna DePuydt finished 12
th in 17:18.07.
In the 200 Breast, sophomore Kaitlyn Mulcahy placed 15
th overall in 2:23.99, two spots ahead of freshman
Michelle D'Allegro (2:22.12).
Next up, the Seahawks will look to defend their ECAC Winter Championships title in East Meadow, NY, starting on December 1.
