Staten Island, NY- Junior Ciaran Wolohan (Manly, Australia/St. Aloysius College/Golden West College) of Wagner's first-year men's water polo team and sophomore Pascalle Tego (Mexico City, Mexico / Colegio Monteverde) have been named the Walsh Electric Student-Athletes of the Month for September.
Wolohan is the Seahawks' team leader in four statistical categories, including goals (28), assists (5), exclusions drawn (44), and blocks (4). The utility player has also been named to the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll two times by the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA). The California native has either led the Green & White or tied for the team lead in goals on six different occasions this season. One of his best performances came when Wagner defeated its first ever nationally-ranked opponent, No. 18 St. Francis Brooklyn 12-11. The Golden West College transfer fired home two goals in the first quarter and one in the third quarter, before capping his day by draining the game-winning point with one second left on the clock.
Tego turned in her best finish of her young career on the weekend of September 10-11, tying for second place at the Navy Fall Invitational held at the Par 72, 6,085-yard Naval Academy Golf Course. In the opening round, Tego fired a career-best one-under par 71 and entered the final round tied for first place before carding a 79 in the second round. Her previous career low was a 73, which she shot as last fall en route to earning Second-Team All-NEC honors. Tego's tie for second place effort at the Navy Invitational was one of two Top-20 finishes she delivered in the month as she paced the Seahawks with a tie for 18th finish at the competitive Rutgers Invitational on September 16-17. In three events during the month of September, Tego recorded a 78.0 average per round.
