Santa Clara, CA – The Wagner men's water polo team split the final day of its first-ever trip to California with a victory over Fresno Pacific University and a loss to No. 20 Loyola Marymount University.

The Green & White defeated Fresno Pacific University 10-6 behind goals from six different Seahawks. Freshman driver
Oscar Nomura (Irvine, CA/Irvine) led the Seahawks offensively with three goals in the first half.

Ciaran Wolohan (Manly, Australia/St. Aloysius College/Golden West College) each fired two tallies in the first quarter to give the Seahawks an early 4-1 lead.
Once again, the Seahawks outscored the Sunbirds 3-1 in the second quarter behind goals from sophomore utility
Devin O'Donnell (Pointe-Claire, Quebec/Selwyn/San Diego Mesa College), freshman utility
Luigi Paparella (Huntington Beach, CA/Marina), and Nomura.
For the third consecutive quarter, the Seahawks held Fresno to only one goal to extend their lead to 9-3. Freshman driver
Aaron Leighton (Lake Forest, CA/El Toro) and freshman driver
Matthew Miller (San Ramon, CA/California High) registered back-to-back goals before Fresno's David Maes scored his second goal of the contest.
Despite being outscored by the Sunbirds in the final stanza, Wagner won its first contest of the Santa Clara Rodeo by a count of 10-6. Rookie driver
Matthew Miller registered his second marker of the game to give the Seahawks their tenth goal.

The Seahawks were defeated by No. Loyola Marymount 20-8 despite three early goals from freshman driver

Reigning Mid Atlantic Water Polo Conference Rookie of the Week Honor Roll member, Miller was the lone Seahawk to score in the first quarter, but his three goals kept the Green & White within two points.
Entering the second quarter ahead 5-3, LMU held Wagner scoreless in the second stanza to extend its lead to 10-3.

James Grady broke the LMU's defense with an early strike coming out of intermission. The Lions countered with a 3-0 run before junior utility

The Lions outscored the Green & White 5-1 in the fourth quarter to defeat the rookie team 20-8. Wagner's lone goal came from freshman driver
