Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College golf team has announced that New Jersey golf professional Mitch Custenborder will be working with the men's and women's programs beginning in the fall.
Custenborder currently works at the private Morris County Golf Club in Morristown, NJ, where he has the opportunity to work with golfers of all skill levels, including some high-caliber young talent.
During the winter months, Custenboreder works as an assistant golf professional at the acclaimed PGA Village Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL. There, Mitch has the privilege of studying under Dr. TJ Tomassi and Charles Sorrell, both of whom are regarded as top-50 instructors of golf in the United States while running his own golf instruction program for students 17 years-old and under.
Custenborder, who played his collegiate golf at the University of Dayton, was a four-year member of the Flyers golf program before graduating in 2009 and helped UD to a second place finish at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Golf Championships.
“We are definitely ecstatic to bring his expertise and knowledge of the game on board our program. Not only is Mitch a quality golfer, but he understands the game and he understands what it takes for players to improve,” explains assistant golf coach
Chris Fourman. “I know he had a great experience playing for the University of Dayton, and I think he is looking forward to giving back now on the coaching end.”
