Mohr Named Wagner Diving Coach

Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College athletic department has announced the hiring of former University of Rhode Island standout, Kelly Mohr as the new head diving coach.

Mohr comes to Wagner with an abundance of coaching experience, coaching the Sacred Heart Academy girls swimming and diving teams to the conference, state and state open level. Mohr also assisted the Cheshire High School boys diving team with its training, and instructed beginner divers at the Cheshire Community pool.

A four-year letter winner with the Rhode Island Rams, Mohr was the team's top diver at the Atlantic 10 Championships her sophomore and senior seasons. A senior captain, Mohr graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Development and Family Studies, making the All-Conference Honor Roll in 2009. Mohr was also a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

"We are extremely excited to bring Kelly into our program for the first year of Wagner Swimming & Diving,” said head swimming coach Mark Sowa. “She brings with her a wealth of experience as an athlete in the Atlantic 10 as well as having worked with young divers of all ages and ability levels. I think her enthusiasm, her passion for the sport, and her desire to grow our diving team will be not only an asset to Wagner but to our conference as a whole."
