Kelsey Rodgers (Anaheim Hills, CA/Canyon/Fullerton JC) was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Defensive Player of the Week. Rodgers led the Seahawks to two wins this weekend over Siena College and Marist College.
Rodgers effort led the Seahawks to a 2-2 record this past weekend. In their first win, Rodgers matched a career-high with 22 saves while allowing only six goals in a 12-6 win over Siena College. After two one-goal losses, Rodgers smothered Marist's offense with 18 saves on 27 shots.
She finished the year with 472 total saves and remains on top of the national standings. She ended the year with the most saves per game (13.88) in MAAC history. Rodgers also added three steals and four TO's in four games this weekend.
The Seahawks will compete in the first round of the MAAC Championship Tournament this weekend. Wagner is the three-seed in tournament and is scheduled to compete against Iona College at 3:00 PM on Saturday.
