Pittsburgh, PA- The Wagner College women's swim team finished 12th after its first day of competition at the Eastern College Athletics Conference (ECAC) Championships. Held at the University of Pittsburgh's Trees Pool, Wagner is competing against a field of 18 teams.
Wagner's 200 freestyle relay team, notched a first-place finish in the B final (ninth place), touching in at 1:39.96. The relay team was compiled of junior
Sarah Plucinsky (Allentown, PA / Allentown Central Catholic), sophomore
Jakki Guenther (South Hadley, MA / South Hadley HS), sophomore
Lauren Meyer (Hamden, CT / Hamden HS) and freshman
Alanna Gibbons (Staten Island, NY / Staten Island Tech).
In the 50 freestyle, senior
Jessica Hart (Montreal, Canada / Northwest) finished tied for 11th with her time of 24.49.
The 400 medley relay team, which comprised of Meyer, Guenther, Gibbons and Plucinsky finished 10th with a time of 4:04.08.
The Seahawks return to action tomorrow, February 27th with day two of the ECAC Championships.
