BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Junior guard
Nick Jones has been named NEC Co-Player of the Week after a standout performance in Wagner's 103–101 overtime victory at Manhattan.
Jones finished with 35 points, six rebounds, six assists, two blocks and one steal, and sealed the win with game-winning free throws in the closing seconds. He shares this week's honor with CCSU's Darin Smith Jr.
With his stat line, the Edgewood, Md. native became one of just four players nationally this season to record at least 35 points, six rebounds and six assists in a single game. His 35-point effort is tied for the 19th-highest scoring performance in Division I this year and marks only the fourth 35/6/6 game by an NEC player in the last 15 years.
Jones is the first Seahawk to earn an NEC Player of the Week accolade since
Rob Taylor II in 2023.
Sophomore
Zavier Fitch was also named an NEC Prime Performer after registering his first career double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks.
Wagner (1–5, 0–0 NEC) is back in action on Tuesday, December 2, with an 8:00 p.m. matchup at Maryland inside the XFINITY Center in College Park, Md.
