Santa Barbara, CA - No. 15 UC Santa Barbara scored 12 runs over the first four innings en route to posting a 13-3 win over Wagner in first game of a doubleheader at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium.

With the victory, the Gauchos improve to 15-3 while the Seahawks fall to 2-13.

Freshman Nick Mascelli (Clifton, NJ / Seton Hall Prep) led the Green & White's seven-hit attack, going 2-for-3 with a run and a walk.

UCSB opened the scoring with a run in the bottom of the first before adding to the lead with two more runs in the second.

UC Santa Barbara then opened up the game with five unearned runs in the third in extending the lead out to 8-0.

Junior Nick Dini (Monroe Township, NJ / Monroe Township) put Wagner in the board in the top of the fourth with his second home run of the season, a deep blast over the left field fence to trim the deficit to 8-1.

Unfortunately, the Gauchos would answer with three runs in the bottom part of the frame in opening what would prove to be an insurmountable 11-1 advantage.

The Seahawks plated two more runs on junior Jason Gordon's (Baltimore, MD / Archbishop Curley) sixth-inning RBI ground out and senior Chris Smith's (Tampa, FL / Ellsworth CC (IA))  seventh-inning RBI single.

UCSB would get those two runs in the bottom of the seventh in providing the final 13-3 tally.

Four different UC Santa Barbara players recorded multiple hits to lead a 14-hit attack. RHP Robby Nesovic (2-1) earned the win, striking out six while yielding three runs, two earned, over 7.0 innings.

Senior LHP Matt Morris (Matawan, NJ / St. John Vianney) was the tough-luck losing pitcher, allowing 11 runs, five earned, over 3.2 innings.
