Staten Island, NY - Wagner College held its first Student-Athlete Thank-A-Thon on Wednesday, June 8 in the Spiro Sports Center. Callers reached out to donors to all of Wagner's sports and fundraising priorities such as the Hall of Fame and Stadium Lights Project.

Student-athletes volunteered their time to call Wagner Athletics donors nationwide to thank them for their financial support. Calls were made to all donors with working phone numbers in the college's database.

"This was a great opportunity to connect our student-athletes with the alumni and friends that cheer them on from the sidelines," said Kristen Koehler, Wagner College Director of Development. "It also helped broaden their perspective and get them to start thinking about giving back and life after college."

Each student-athlete delivered a simple but sincere message: "Thank You." As evidenced by the many lively conversations, both the callers and the donors enjoyed the event.

"I enjoyed it a lot and appreciated the experience to talk to alumni,” said junior Kenny Howard , a member of the football team . “It also gave me a better idea of why colleges fundraise and how important financial support is."
