Tempe AZ-
The Wagner College softball team lost two games Saturday in the Seahawks' second day of the Arizona State games. The first game was a tough 1-0 loss to Western Michigan early in the day, which was followed by a 7-0 defeat at the hands of the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB).

The first game against Western Michigan was true pitcher's duel as the Seahawks failed to produce a run while the Broncos' lone run in the second inning was enough for the victory.

In the circle, freshman Kaelynn Armenta (Whittier, CA / Paul HS) threw an outstanding game, allowing four just hits and a run. The right-handed hurler recorded 10 strikeouts in the loss as her record falls to 1-1 on the season.

At the plate, Wagner was held to three hits by Western Michigan's Meredith Whitney. Sophomore Emily Pierce (Phoenix, AZ / Desert Vista) and junior Amanda deLancelotti (San Clemente, CA / Florida C.C. at Jacksonville) each went 1-3 while Armenta recorded one hit in her two at bats.

In the Seahawks' second game of the day, UCSB blanked Wagner with a sparkling performance on the mound by UCSB's Krista Cobb. The freshman hurler made her collegiate debut a memorable one by throwing a perfect game against the Seahawks, retiring all 21 of the Seahawk batters she faced, including 8 strikeouts.

For the Seahawks, sophomore Amanda Garcia (Fresno, CA / California State University, Fresno) took the loss in her one inning on the mound. She was relieved by junior Danielle Wagoner (Temecula, CA / Temecula Valley), who gave up seven earned runs in her five innings of work.
