Kissimmee, FL - Sophomore Katie Stevens (Reno, NV / Wooster) displayed why she was the NEC Rookie of the Year last season recording six RBI in Rebel Game Wins over Saint Louis (9 inn.) and Rider (5 inn). The sweep jumps the Seahawks record to 5-8 on the season.

Stevens won the opener vs SLU with a walk-off double in the bottom of the ninth and then belted two home runs in her first two at bats leading to a 5 RBI game vs Rider.

The first game was a classic pitchers duel in every sense of the term. Neither team record a hit until a two out Billikin single in the top of the fourth. The Seahawks would not break through until junior Morgan Miller (Las Vegas, NV / Silverado) dropped a leadoff single into center to start the last of the sixth.

Wagner threatened to take the game home in the bottom of the seventh with back to back two out singles from sophomore Victoria Batistelli (Huntington Beach, CA / Huntington Beach) and freshman Andrea Lazzari (Reno, NV / Wooster). A groundout to third then sent the game into extra innings.

In the eighth with the international tie breaker in place, a runner is placed on second to start each inning. SLU added a runner with a walk, but Miller escaped with a flyout and two fielders choice to the short stop Joy Gallagher (Hazleton, PA / Hazleton). Wagner would move the runner to third with its AB, but she was left stranded there as the contest continued.

In the ninth the Bilikins bunted the runner to third to start the inning, but Stevens gunned the runner down at home when the next hitter grounded to her at second. She then delivered the game winning double with one out in the ninth scoring sophomore Ami Iwicki (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central) who was placed on second to start.

Miller dominated on the mound with the complete game three hit shutout. She also struck out four while winning her third straight decision to improve to 4-4 on the year.

Floccari gave up just four hits and the one unearned run with four Ks for Saint Louis.

Stevens was again the star of the second game as she bounced the first pitch she saw off the top of the center field fence for her first homerun of the season and a 1-0 lead. In the second after junior Christina Hopkins (Edison, NJ / Edison) and Gallagher singled, Stevens blasted a three run shot over the fence in right giving Wagner a 4-1 lead.

The Seahawks then batted around in the fourth inning scoring six runs to break the game open. Senior Christy Sykora (Orland Park, IL / Carl Sandburg) and freshman Jaclyn Vanore (Palisades Park, NJ / Paramus Catholic) each knocked in two runs, while Iwicki and senior Gia Grimaldi (Hauppauge, NY / Hauppauge) chipped in RBI singles.

Rider would add one run in the bottom of the inning before Gallagher tripled and scored to sealed the game for the Seahawks and enforce the eight run mercy rule.

Junior Dara Gadzialla (E. Brunswick, NJ / E. Brunswick) picked up her first win of the year giving up four hits and two runs, with three strikeouts.

Eight of the nine starters hit in the game for the Seahawks.

Wagner is back in action on Thursday vs Bucknell and Colgate.
